We had ten delegates attend the 74th South Carolina Association of Student Councils State Convention at Airport High School, March 11-13. Three of our delegates – Ahmirah Wilmore, Jaliyah Sims, and Kateera Boyd – were workshop presenters. The council as a whole brought home several awards this weekend:
Silver Honor Council – all councils are asked to complete a rubric based off of best practices for a student council as identified by SCASC. Awards are based on the number of points accrued from State 2021 and State 2022.
Ahmirah Wilmore was inducted into the Terry McCoy Leadership Hall of Fame. Schools are asked to nominate students who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities. Ahmirah was chosen by our council for the nomination.
Awards – each council can submit up to three awards in the different categories defined by SCASC. We submitted three and all three did very well!
