Bulldogs,
We are very proud of the accomplishments our students have made during the first quarter of the 23-24 school year. A total of 233 students made either the A/B Honor Roll or the Principal’s Honor Roll. This number reflects the determination and dedication of the students and teachers at Newberry High. Honor Roll students were honored on Monday October 30th during Flex Time. The 2022-2023 South Carolina report card ratings are out. Newberry High School scored an overall “below average” rating for the second year in a row. A community forum will be held on November 2nd to address the rating, our goals for 2023-2024, and support systems that we have in place to assist our students. Although our rating is far below our expectations, Newberry High School showed growth in several report card rating areas.
Growth from 2021-2022 to 2022-2023

English 2 End of Course Test C or better = increase of 5%                                                                                        Algebra 1 End of Course Test C or better = increase of 21%                                                                                            US History End of Course Test C or better = increase of 2%                                                                                    College and/or Career Ready = increase of 3%

Please understand that we will continue to grow and improve in all areas. We know our students and school are far better than this rating reflects. The administration, teachers/staff, and students of NHS appreciate the support of our parents and community. Together, we will accomplish our goals and exceed our expectations.

SECRET SANTA FOR SENIORS

Secret Santa for Seniors Community Service Project kicks off at Irene’s on November 16th at 6:00 PM.  A Christmas tree will be displayed here and will feature ornaments that will include a senior citizen’s wishlist.  Members of the community can choose an ornament, buy the
suggested gift item, and return it unwrapped with the ornament to Irene’s or to Newberry High School.  If you do not like to shop and you still want to help, please consider donating to the Secret Santa project.
