Mr. Cannon joined the NHS administration in the 2011-2012 school year. Here are some of his former positions: 2004 - 2008: Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Varsity Football Coach, Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Whitmire Community School 2008 - 2011: High School Social Studies Teacher, Varsity Football Coach, Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Mid- Carolina High School.

Mrs. Johnson-Jenkins joined the NHS Administrative Team in the 2013-2014 school year.  Some of her former positions: 2011-2013: Director of Guidance, Dent Middle School; 2010-2011: Assistant Principal, Central High School; 2008-2010; Guidance Counselor, Central High School; 2000-2008; Middle School Language Arts, Bamberg-Ehrhardt Middle School.  Mrs. Johnson-Jenkins is very excited to be a part of the "Bulldog" family.   


Amanda Finley

Amanda Finley enjoys working with students, parents, and teachers at Newberry High in her role as Assistant Principal. After teaching at Newberry Middle for 14 years, she finds it very rewarding to reconnect with her former students as they become young ladies and gentlemen. Mrs. Finley studied at Covenant College where she earned her bachelor's degree and master's degree in Educational Leadership. She is married to Lonnie Finley and has a five year old son, John Weston. In addition to following the NHS Bulldog sports teams, the Finleys enjoy going to USC games and cheering for Gamecock football, basketball, and baseball.   


Brandon Baskett

Brandon Baskett is from Aiken, SC where he lived for the majority of his life. He is married to his college sweetheart, Christina, and they live in Columbia, SC. This is his 5th year in education and he joins us from Mid-Carolina High School, where he was an Assistant Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach for 3 seasons. During his time at MCHS, he was also the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year, served as a Technology Leader, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) advisor, Student Council advisor, and Summer School Administrator. Education is a priority for him; he is passionate about how it can influence the lives of young people. He is excited about joining the Bulldog family and leading the Freshman Academy.
