The Teacher Cadet class recently created manipulatives to demonstrate the power of hands-on learning in the development preschool and elementary-aged children. Students were tasked with create an educational manipulative to share with their peers that would be age-appropriate, educational, and durable.

Students brought in a wide variety of educational tools — from board games to teach multiculturalism to cakes with icing to teach fractions.
The Teacher Cadet course is a great opportunity for students to learn about the benefits of the teaching profession while earning three hours of college credit from Newberry College. The course is weighted as an Advanced Placement course. Interested students should see their guidance counselor.
